The exhibition will make it possible to attract capital from the world, primarily from Europe and Asia, and this can radically change the appearance of the city, speed up the construction of the subway, but also increase hotel capacities, Miladin Kovačević believes.
On the eve of the International Specialized Exhibition Expo 2027, which will be held in Belgrade, the capital will shine with a new glow thanks to projects worth 12 billion euros.

Big flywheel

He adds that the Expo can speed up the construction of the metro, as well as the completion of the ring road, but also increase the hotel capacities, which are currently insufficient, taking into account the growing tourism.

- All in all, this will bring us easier access to capital on the financial markets - concluded Kovačević.

- First of all, the international exhibition Expo itself is a significant event and its achievement is a great result for Serbia, which will have a positive not only economic effect, but will also be positive for the country's image in the world, bearing in mind that people and companies from all over the world will come to Belgrade. It is also significant that infrastructure will be built that will remain and will enable a better quality of life for citizens, and the fact that another industrial area will be opened is also of great importance, in the part from which there is a connection with most of Serbia and Europe.
- Within the complex related to Expo 2027, line infrastructure is also connected, which will include eight kilometers of city boulevards, a leveled loop, i.e. an overpass, a planned gas pipeline with a measuring and regulation station for both the national stadium and all other facilities. These are hot water and cold water. Hladovod represents a new system for cooling and has not yet been implemented in Serbia. Also, the main measuring and regulation station will be completed and a railway will be built within that complex - stated Vučić.

New look

He added that the location of the Old Fair will also get a new look.

- The Republic of Serbia is keeping the big hall, and a big wheel will be built on that space, which all big cities have and which will change the appearance of that part of the city and on the Sava river, it will look fantastic. Zones for investments will cover 37.68 percent, and public areas 62.32 percent - said Vučić.

He also indicated that the national football stadium will have 52,000 seats and will be built according to UEFA standards, and that it will be ready by the fall of 2026. Power transmission lines, substations, railways, gas pipelines will also be built...

- In just two months, the Prokop railway station will be ready, and the Belgrade bus station will be completed by 2025. A new, magnificent bridge will be built on the Sava, which will be silent. The old bridge will have a useful value and the idea is to connect the end of New Belgrade with the beginning of Zemun with the Great War Island and will be a real attraction for Belgrade. The Novi Belgrade railway station will be completed in just two years, and the old railway bridge will be reconstructed, which will become a new pedestrian bridge. It is planned that there will be restaurants there, and it will be a space intended mostly for the younger population. Also, the Water Tower will be reconstructed, as well as the old railway station, and the Korunović post office will be located there - the president announced and pointed out that the first metro line will be opened before the end of 2028.

The president also said that in the largest 14 cities, after Belgrade, slightly more than 120 facades per city will be built, and in other smaller cities 70 to 80 new facades, and all in less than three years. He also announced the "Sail Serbia" project, which envisages 12 stations on the Danube, the first of which will be opened in September in Zemun, as well as the launch of a river taxi and the construction of the first natural history museum.
