SIMPLE AND SHORT - What is EXPO 2027 and why is it so important for Serbia

A unique event on a global level.

In 2027, Belgrade will be in the center of attention of the whole world, due to the organization of the EXPO fair. It is an excellent opportunity for the influx of fresh money into the country, new investments, and that in many areas, such as the hotel industry and tourism.

Of course, all this requires a serious investment, so the EXPO exhibition, which will take place from May 15 to August 15, 2027, will require the construction of special infrastructure, such as pavilions for participating countries and accommodation facilities for participants.

It is expected that the Expo in Belgrade will be visited by about 2.59 million people (total estimated four million visits), and Belgrade will also host 5,000 scientists. A special curiosity is that, according to the announcements, at EXPO 2027, all vehicles in the exhibition will be electric and driverless.

Therefore, it will be a manifestation that will be remembered, and from which the whole of Serbia will benefit. However, many people wonder, who and how came up with the idea to organize such an event?

The official EXPO 2027 Instagram account also talks about the history of the famous exhibition.

- The tradition of more than 170 years was started in the British capital London in 1851. Prince Albert, the husband of the then British Queen Victoria, led the organization of the "Great Exhibition of Industrial Work of All Nations" at the Crystal Palace in London's Hyde Park, whose main theme was the technological progress of the world at that time.

Since the first exhibition, these manifestations have had the role of remobilizing people and economic strength of countries and indicators of a new phase of globalization for industrialists and traders. The exhibition in Paris, known as the Cobden-Chevalier Charter, which resulted in the signing of the Franco-British Charter in 1860, served as a synthesis of the greatest artistic trends - it is written in the post of the Instagram account "expo_belgrade_2027".

Therefore, EXPO has "traveled" all over the world and will arrive in Serbia exactly 176 years after its creation. As a reminder, the theme of EXPA 2027 is "Play for humanity - sports and music for all", and the estimated number of participants is 120 in total - 97 countries, 7-10 international organizations, 5-10 corporate pavilions).

And let's not forget - it will be the first time that the EXPO is held in Southeast Europe, and therefore the first world exhibition in one of the countries of the former Yugoslavia.
